Despite a "French Quarter" location "close to Bourbon Street", it's "quiet at night" at this "pleasant" "gem" (once a macaroni factory) where a "beautiful courtyard" is hidden behind an "old-European" exterior; parking is free in the "private" lot, its staffers are so "old-style" they're "worthy of appearing in a Bogart movie" and the accommodations come at a "reasonable" price, so while a few find the "rustic" rooms "outdated", most would "recommend it over and over again"; N.B. the restaurant is open only for breakfast and lunch.

Great hotel- very knowledgeable staff who make good recommendations. Accomodations are older and furnishings are dated, but very clean and serviceable. Neat views out of window of the French Quarter. Decent-sized pool was recently upgraded to salt water system- very clean and pretty. Restaurant is nice- overlooks pool, but hardly any reason to eat there with all the fantastic bakeries and restaurants in area. Best about this hotel is the free parking- adjacent to the hotel and self-park so you don't have to fool with valet parking. This set-up is unusual in the Quarter and a HUGE plus. great staff.

Even with air conditioning full blast, top floor still a bit warm on very hot day.

Great location and the free parking was outstanding.

Rooms were a little warm even with the ceiling fan. Also update the TV.

The hotel was great and the location make everything close and convenient. The pool area was nice and the breakfast by the pool was great.

I took my husband to new Orleans for his 74th birthday. It was his first trip. This hotel was perfect in every way. The room was large, attractive, we had French doors out to a large balcony overlooking the quarter. It is in a great location, close to Jackson Square and lots of restaurants. We will always stay here when visiting New Orleans. Also, I met the owner who lives at the hotel and he was so gracious. We just fell in love with this place. ...read more

Very much like the French Quarter in design and location. It had class.

Too much cigarette smoking and odor of smoking was prevalent throughout.

Folks were very friendly. Parking is convenient and was free. Was definitely not a chain hotel and was more a family owned hotel with people who seemed to take pride in everything from front desk to maids. ...read more
